CHIP Candidates Forum
The Coalition for Hispanic/Latino Issues and Progress invites selected Contested Primary Election Candidates to attend and participate in their upcoming Candidates Forum. The Forum will be taped by Lorain City Schools who, along with Lorain Country Community College, will broadcast the Forum on their respective television networks during the two to three weeks prior to the March 17th, 2020 Primary Election. The Forum will be moderated by CHIP Trustees Michael Ferrer and Alisha Pardon with the assistance of a soon to be selected Lorain City recent High School Graduate. They will collectively present selected questions to candidates.
The same questions will be posed to all incumbents/candidates within a contested race. Questions will be engaging in nature and are meant to assist our constituency and the viewing public to become familiar with individuals running for political office, what they stand for and why they are running. In order to protect the incumbents/candidates no questions from the audience will be allowed on the day of this video-taped event. All Candidates in contested races will be given one minute to introduce themselves (opening statement). This will be followed by a series of questions from the moderators (same for each candidate) and one minute answers from the candidates. Each candidate will then be given 1 or 2 minutes for their concluding statement. CHIP does not tolerate disparaging remarks about a fellow candidate, the disparaged candidate will be given time to respond. The candidate making the disparaging remark will not be allowed to follow-up. The Moderators reserve the right to follow-up on any response that warrants further clarification.
The public is welcome.Come out and hear Tim Connors respond to questions and make his case for why he is the right congressional candidate for Ohio's 9th District.
